Welcome to Deer Valley Birmans! We are located nestled in the foothills of Tennessee near the Alabama state line. There are many deer roaming the valley or hollow as we call it here. I fell in love with Birmans after just seeing a few pictures. When I first felt their silky fur I couldn’t resist them. My first Birman was bought from Karen Brunet. She entrusted Melody to me. I can’t tell you what a joy she is! I showed her in Premiership and she granded. This was a very nice surprise for Karen and me as she was only pet quality. Melody is a lilac point. Thank you Karen for letting me love her. Melody was followed by another Birman. And the rest is history. We are a small cattery. We had a sunroom added to our house just so the Birmans could enjoy the view, fresh air, and sunshine. My males are cages for breeding control. I do insist that they are played with and loved daily. My females run the house. Kittens are raised under foot. They are loved and played with daily. They are only caged during the pigpen age from about 5 weeks until after 6 weeks. This is to learn litter box skills. It can be very messy at this age. Although you wouldn't guess it from looking at these two... Birmans are very social. They love to be around people. They will follow you from room to room just to be near you. I have had owners of my kittens tell me they could not believe how special they are. They are best experienced. I agree. There is a legend that is attached to the Birman breed. You can find this legend and much more in the Birman FAQ on the Birman.Net website. -Kay | ||
